Oops…We Did It Again!

No you’re not imagining things! We’ve really begun construction yet again on our third commercial greenhouse! This house will have the same footprint (24’ x 60’) as the second house we built closest to our house, but it will be a few feet taller. With the added height, our plan is to move our cucumber and tomato production into this house this season. Now that we’ll have an entire house for that, we’ll have the ability to add another hydroponic table to house #2 when we decide to layer in the extra production capacity. This season we’re using that free space to grow starts for sale, something we haven’t put too much energy into in the past two seasons.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what it’s like to work on building a greenhouse during the start of the growing season, let’s just say, we don’t advise it! There aren’t enough hours in the day to tackle everything on our to-do list. In fact, it feels like the to-do list is growing by the day, not shrinking. One things for certain though, there is no turning back now and once it’s complete, we know that all the insanity will be worth it. It’s pretty incredible to think that we’ll have three times the growing capacity we had when we first started our operations in the fall of 2020.
