Our First Harvest

Our first harvest carried special meaning for us. It was more than just a milestone in our journey, it was our first opportunity to make a difference.

Over the past year we counted our blessings, then recounted them again, and again. We watched how the pandemic impacted families struggling to put food on the table across the country and we were inspired by the individuals and businesses, small and large, that were able to be the answer to someone’s prayers.

When we founded Root 42 Harvests, we made a promise to each other that we would seek out ways to use our assets and talents to give back, in gratitude for what we have been given and were fortunate to hold on to. We knew our business could not only be a new vehicle to take our passion to new heights, but also a means to make an impact.

This weekend we harvested 37 pounds of bok choy, packaged individually, and boxed it to make a special delivery to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. We are so thankful to have been given our first opportunity to help our Northeast Ohio community through our first harvest. We are grateful for all of the ways the foodbanks and hunger relief programs in our state serve our Ohio communities and for helping us be a part of that today.
