Winter Update

Hello everyone! I wanted to give a mid-winter update on all of our projects. We have been busy working on our second commercial greenhouse (third greenhouse overall). This structure is being designed as our “hot house”, which we will be using for the warm season crops. Think sun ripened tomatoes, fresh cucumbers, sweet peppers, and more basil! This house will also feature some new growing techniques. I know it's one of the coldest nights of the year as I write this, but we are only one week away from starting our first seeds for these crops. Lots of work will be occurring the next few weeks, but it will be worth it once the summer farmers market season begins and we have a plentiful harvest to share with our community!

As for the original greenhouse, the leafy greens are doing really well and we have continued to enjoy salads all winter long. We have been having success with our online store which has helped us see many of the smiling faces we have missed since the Medina Square Farmers Market wrapped up its 2021 season.

We just couldn’t be more excited about our second year of operation! Two greenhouses mean twice the offerings (or more!) this season. We are looking forward to the “official” start of the season in February. Until then remember to “Romaine Calm and Eat Your Kale!”
